Five Year Coverage
Your
extended warranty coverage begins on the date your home is ready for
occupancy at the original site it is placed or, if applicable, on the
date the Placement Certificate is signed by you and remains in effect
for the first five years that you own your home. This warranty covers
your home from structural and systems failure of the items outlines as
follows:
It includes:
Frame and Chassis
Including
tow bar and steel or wood trusses and steel or wood support frame
beneath the floor of the home; Limited to only major structural failure
rendering the dwelling unsafe or uninhabitable.
Sub Floor Structure
Including wood joists, floor joists and all support lumber contained within the floor from:
(a) Uneven floor joists causing high or low areas exceeding
manufacturer's tolerance, but not related to any problems with the
foundation or support system of the home. Will not include decking
squeaks, this would be considered a homeowner responsibility.
Roof Structure
Including roof rafters and trusses, main support beams, roof decking, all support lumber contained within the roof from:
(a)
Roof leaks, except leaks resulting from snow or ice buildup, normal
leakage or wind driven elements through vents and or form lack of
homeowner's maintenance.
(b) Major structural failure rendering the dwelling unsafe or uninhabitable.
Exterior and Interior Walls
Including
exterior siding, studs, insulation, headers, framing and all support
lumber contained within the outside and inside walls from:
(a) Studs which bulge in excess of the manufacturer's tolerance.
(b)
Walls that are out of plumb in excess of the manufacturer's tolerance.
Water or snow leakage through walls or wall openings, not related to
homeowner maintenance.
(c) Major structural failure rendering the dwelling unsafe or uninhabitable.
General Structural Envelope and Insulation
Including roof, floor, and wall insulation.
(a) Failure to meet applicable energy code requirements for insulation
or amounts described on insulation disclosure form.
(b) Failure to conform to applicable code standards for ventilation and internal vapor barriers.
**Note - The homeowner is responsible for controlling water vapor generated by living, lifestyle and location of home.
Concealed Electrical System
The
only electrical components that are covered are concealed
electrical components. The definition of concealed electrical is
any component of the electrical system that is inaccessible to the
homeowner.
Concealed Plumbing System
The only
plumbing components that are covered are concealed plumbing
components. The definition of concealed plumbing is any component
of the plumbing system that is inaccessible to the homeowner limited to
water and drain lines within the floor system and water lines inside
walls.
Conditions:
To
activate your Five Year coverage, you must return your completed
Homeowner Warranty Registration Card to KIT HomeBuilders West, LLC
within 30 days from date of retail delivery. You must comply
with requirements of Homeowners Manual and Limited Warranty. If you
